Living the Life You Were Born to Live

Every life has an underlying purpose and destiny.

The drive to understand our life purpose is, for many of us, as important to our personal and psychological growth as eating food is for our physical survival. People from all cultures and all walks of life share in common this drive for meaning, direction and purpose.

The call to live and fulfil our Destiny manifests as a hidden force behind our outer personality.

Although you may consciously not recognize or see your specific life purpose, our subconscious knows and responds to messages and signs sent through our dreams, seemingly synchronistic signs, our intuition, and our deepest longings and desires.  

I’ve written before about how the Chinese Scholars understood and worked to align themselves with their with own Destiny. The tools they used were Feng Shui and BaZi (Chinese Astrology).

What does BaZi see?

There is a saying in Chinese Metaphysics – BaZi is the diagnosis and Feng Shui is the remedy.  

BaZi is a guide to understanding your Destiny, Desires, Personality, and if you are in alignment with your outer and inner, conscious and subconscious self.

Through the eyes of BaZi, we can explore who we are, how we act, our obvious strengths and weaknesses, and most importantly what we can do to manage our expectations and manifest our most deepest desires and goals.

BaZi and the Five Elements

BaZi (also known as Four Pillars) is the study of Destiny based on the Year, Month, Day and Hour of our birth.  

Every one of us has a birthday, but very few of us realize the treasure of information encoded within the moment we were born. Our birthday is a data bank of information and is the most valuable key we have to reveal the secrets of our life.

The philosophy is simple and logical.  The universe is made up of hidden energy patterns. We are human beings made up of hidden energy patterns. Everything is connected.  The universe, our bodies and souls being part of the universe, are no exception.  

Everything in the Universe is represented in the Chinese Metaphysics by the 5 Elements of Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. The 5 elements represent the components of everything.   Our bodies are also comprised of the 5 Elements.  

How do we know what elements each person embodies?

Each person’s birthday contains a hidden code, comprised of the 5 Elements. Understanding this code and how it can affect one’s Destiny is the basis of the subject of BaZi.  

Each person is different. No one’s life is perfect. Natural law teaches that balance and harmony of the elements are happiness and peace, hence the goal is to achieve balance.  

The BaZi system of Life Reading and Destiny Analysis is a logical system of reasoning based on the cycles of birth and death seen through the eyes of 5 Elements. The 5 Elements are Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal. They represent the 5 basic energies of all matters in the Universe.

When we understand who we are, we have the knowledge in our hands to adjust our expectations and actions so that we are doing the right thing at the right time.

No more “pushing a river”, everything flows with ease in the right direction.

Since we are all products of the 5 Elements, our character, disposition and abilities are reflected in our birth charts.

Studying BaZi will help you determine who you are, what your strengths are and hence what you are best here to do – Your Life Path.  With the understanding of the Five Elements and how they relate to your strengths, it’s easy to also see how suffering (unhappiness, problems, health issues) occurs when we are not in alignment with our Destiny.

BaZi, Destiny and Your Year Ahead

Just like the seasons of nature, everything changes with time.  

Each year is comprised of the different elements. Each year has ruling elements. 

If Fire and Metal are favourable elements for you, your life will have more opportunities, your health will be good and it is a good year to take calculated risks in investments.

If Fire and Metal are not your favourable elements, you may find yourself working harder with fewer results, you may not feel as happy, your energy levels might be low.  

Regardless of whether the elements are favourable for you or not, knowing the energy of the year we are in can help you create a more harmonious Destiny for yourself too.
