What will the Wood Rooster month be for you?

Hello my friends, Marlyna here.

Its September 2020, the month of Virgo and Wood Rooster in the year of the Metal Rat. The year is flying by.  Astrologically, all signs point towards another 18 months of life as we now know it.   I am grateful for spiritual work which reminds me daily, “Life happens for you, not to you.”   Ultimately are you able to live with your heart open and in a state of connection versus one of fear and separation.

Feng Shui and Astrology is all about energy,  its about connecting to energy and realizing as well that we are all energy and that it is up to each of us to take responsibility for our individual energy and be connectors.

The universe is always speaking to us, and this month particularly is one where it is important to pay attention to your dreams, visions, signs and gut feelings. Autumn is here, winter is coming. It’s time to start to think what seeds are you planting to grow for next year.  Take a step back and reflect on your life and what you can do in the next 18 months to 2 years to make a positive difference in your life and in the lives of others.

Reflections in September is not new for me; between school starting and my birthday, I naturally gravitated towards looking back at the last year and making new goals. I remember to  recognize all I have to be grateful for and review where am I on track,  and what is calling me and what actions need to occur to make that happen.

Collectively, the overall energy of Wood Rooster in Metal Rat year continues to be one of choosing, deciding and potentially committing to a higher calling and higher purpose.  To do so means transcending fear and speaking our truth, ultimately being true to ourselves.   Finding our self-worth by being true to actions that support that.  Say what we mean and mean what we say.

The universe is always sending us clues. Astrology is one way. The Chinese month of the Wood Rooster began on Sept 7th. Collectively the energy of the Wood Rooster is what we call a broken pillar, metal chopping wood.   The pillar is known as a betrayal pillar indicating globally things may not go as planned and emotions are running high and deep. The hexagram for Wood Rooster is Retreat. The urge to hide and go away is strong, along with overwhelm.  A person in tune with self-development will use and connect with nature as their teacher.

The relationship with the month and your personal Destiny BaZi chart tells us more. It depends on the interactions between the elements, the animal signs interactions and on what your personal relationship is with the elements of Wood and Metal.

The Rooster represents the element of Yin Metal and it’s associated with the setting sun and the direction west. The original image for the Rooster is that of a wine flask, which indicated it was time to leave the tasks of the day, relax, enjoy a glass of wine, listen to music and watch the sunset.

In five element theory Metal is about taking action and movement. It is the strongest of the 5 elements (water, wood, fire, earth and metal).  If the metal is weak in your chart, taking action may be difficult for you, whereas, when it is too strong you may be all doing with no planning. You may get lots done but work too hard. Lacking metal – nothing gets done.

In the human body the element of metal rules the lungs. It is interesting to note that people whose charts have strong metal frequently have some type of respiratory problems. The emotion of metal is romantic and sometimes sad. Metal energy is associated with melancholy, wistfulness and longing. Positive metal emotions are altruism and a highly developed sense of right, wrong, fairness and justice.

The energy of the Wood Rooster month is also filled with strong emotion, and for some, relationships may end (or perhaps change). It is a perfect month to alter habits and behaviours into a more positive direction.  It is also a month though where the temptation to escape into your behaviours to self soothe, (alcohol, drug, sex etc.) will be particularly strong.

Awareness is the key to change.  Here is a very general look at the key signs affected by the rooster.

Rooster: For those of you with Rooster in your chart beware of self-sabotage behaviours this month.   It will be overly analytical, over think and overindulge.  Be discerning on who you hang out with, not everything is as it appears.

Dog: the Dog and Rooster have an uneasy relationship.  If you have Dog in your chart, best to proceed with caution and not accept everything said at face value.

The Snake, Ox and Dragon can look forward to a month of opportunities coming without trying.  This is a good month to ask for help.  Expect extra rewards for your efforts.  This is not a month to lay low, go out there and create some momentum towards your dreams.

The Goat continues to be blessed. The year is filled with favourable stars and now this month as well. There will be a tendency to relax and enjoy, but I recommend you use this time to create new avenues of opportunities towards what is important to you.

Rat:   The Rooster and Rat have an uneasy relationship,  trust is an issue.   With this being Rat year and now Rooster month, this energy is magnified.  Best course of action, make sure you are trustworthy particularly to yourself.  Keep true to your values and promises. This is a good month to lay low and avoid excessive socializing.

And last but not least Rabbit:   The Rooster and Rabbit have what is called a clash.   Clash means change, personally I see all change as opportunity and recognize at the same time change is uncomfortable.  A way to get ahead of this is not to wait for change to come to you, but for you to be the change.   Now is the time to make those changes you have been thinking of.

As for the remaining animals not mentioned, nothing dramatic one way or another to report. Your turn will come.

Mark down the 17th and the 22nd.

New moon in Virgo on the 17th followed by the Equinox on the 22nd.    The new moon is a perfect time cleanse the energy of your home and create a sacred space and fill it with your magic and new intentions.

The equinox occurs when night and day are equal in length. It offers a powerful vibration and harmony between darkness and light. Autumn equinox is a time of harvest, releasing negative beliefs and letting go. Let go of the old and welcome in the new.

Overall – This is not the time for any of us to isolate emotionally, it is a time to reach out and let yourself be supported and at the same time support others.  It is a universal law that what we give we get. While it has taken time for me to get used to, I am grateful for the opportunity the internet and Zoom has brought to connect with others, to teach, consult, study with teachers. I encourage you as well to consider supporting yourself with a BaZi destiny or Feng Shui consultation or attending one of my self-study or online courses.
